As you've no doubt noticed, it's the first of the month and there's no new story. And that's not just here on Fiction First. I also have nothing new in my Writing folder. I have been so focused on keeping up with my day job work and getting my novel's first draft written that I have not produced any new short stories since the last NYC Midnight challenge in October.
I fear that pattern will continue for the foreseeable future. My work calendar is full to overflowing for January and February --which makes my bank accounts very happy--and I'm still spinning words for that first draft. It will be a while before I have the time and brain space for more short fiction.
Rest assured, though, that there will be more. Things will just be a bit more ad hoc in 2016.
