I had visions of posting a holiday poem this week--
"Twas the Night Before Christmas" with a Hanukkah theme.
I started on Sunday and finished one verse.
By Thursday afternoon, though, it had only gotten worse.
So into the trashcan my scribbles all went,
along with the intentions that were so well-meant.
Instead I offer a prayer that we say every year:
Thank you, God, for sustaining us and bringing us here.
And a wish for the season, to make this just right:
